Here is another email from Sarah from this evening,

Info from today - she is doing well on the cpap which the docs were NOT anticipating, so that makes us happy! She is very slowly showing improvement with processing her milk. She was taking her milk but then it would just sit in her tummy and when they would asperate her (suck her stomach contents out) they would get back the same amount that they had put in - so she wasn't moving any through her system. Well, starting this evening, when they asperated her they got back just slighty more than half of what they gave her - so she managed to get some of the milk to move through her system. They were going to put a special more intrusive tube in her tonight that not only went into her stomach but carried through to her intestines, but since she is showing some improvement in her processing ability they are going to hold off overnight to see if it continues to get better. Mya and I had a WONDERFUL three and a half hour cuddle today which made us both very happy. She was snug as a bug and the nurse said that she could see how totally relaxed Mya was being able to sleep in my arms. She is also 3.03 pounds today! You can actually see the extra weight on her, her legs are really starting to fill out and her cheeks too!Love Sarah


We are so much looking forward to being able to hold our new niece. There would not be a better Christmas present for us to ask for!
